Nursery Rhymes: Fun With Words and Songs
Nursery rhymes are some of the first stories children hear, making them a fun and effective way to build early reading and language skills. The rhymes and repetition help kids remember words and sounds.
This week, clients made “Three Bears’ toast,” practicing fine motor and kitchen skills while creating a fun snack. They also “repaired” Humpty Dumpty with bandages, building independence through simple life skills. For Groundhog Day, we learned about Punxsutawney Phil and made our own groundhog shadow crafts to encourage creativity and hands-on learning.
In ABA, we teach important skills through play and everyday activities. While your child is having fun, they’re also practicing listening, following directions, communication, sharing, fine motor skills, and independence. Using familiar stories helps learning feel exciting, meaningful, and easier to remember.
