Zoo Day! 🦁🌿
Our Zoo Day outing is a fun and meaningful opportunity for clients to practice important skills in a natural, community-based setting. During this trip, clients will explore the zoo alongside their therapists while engaging in structured and play-based learning experiences.
Throughout the outing, therapists will support clients in building communication, social, and adaptive skills. This includes practicing requesting, commenting, and responding to others, as well as engaging with peers and staff in a shared environment. Clients will also work on learner readiness skills such as waiting, following directions, transitioning between areas, and staying with their group.
In addition, Zoo Day provides opportunities to target tolerance and flexibility, as clients experience new sights, sounds, and routines. Therapists will use these moments to support emotional regulation and reinforce positive behaviors in a real-world setting.
Overall, this outing blends learning and fun—helping clients generalize their skills beyond the clinic while building confidence and independence in the community.
